Because a safe home shouldn't depend on what you can afford
HouzTask exists to make home repairs transparent, fair, and human. Neighbor Help is how we put that into action — not with slogans, but with real work in real homes.
Home is where safety starts
A leaking roof, a broken grab bar, a failing heater — these aren't small problems. For stretched families, deferred maintenance becomes a health and safety crisis.
Neighbors know who needs help
You see families who wouldn't ask for themselves. We rely on your nominations to find households where $1,000 can create the most meaningful relief.
Real work, not checks
We send vetted local professionals to do actual work — so the impact is tangible, safe, and lasting. Every dollar goes directly into someone's home.
How Neighbor Help works
We keep it simple and focused on impact. Each month, we choose one neighbor whose situation could be meaningfully improved with a little help at home.
You nominate
Share who needs help — a neighbor, family member, friend, or yourself. Tell us about their situation and what kind of support would make a real difference. Takes about 2 minutes.
We review
After the monthly deadline, our team reads every nomination. We prioritize safety issues, families under stress, and situations where $1,000 creates the most meaningful relief.
We make it happen
The selected household gets up to $1,000 in professional home services — coordinated, vetted, and fully covered. We stay involved until the work is done right.
Fair and transparent selection
All eligible nominations are reviewed equally each month. Some may carry forward if the need remains. Submitting multiple nominations for the same person doesn't change our review — please submit once.
Real projects. Real neighbors.
Projects that restore safety, comfort, and dignity to people's daily lives.
A safer bathroom after surgery
We added grab bars, tightened fixtures, and created a fall-safe bathroom for a parent recovering at home — so they could move with confidence again.
A refreshed room after a tough year
After job changes and a move, we helped repair lighting, repaint walls, and create a calming space for a child's sleep and homework.
A clean home for a full-time caregiver
We funded a deep clean, decluttering, and basic repairs so a caregiver could focus on the people who needed them — not on house stress.
Representative examples. Actual projects vary by household need and local professional availability.
Do you know a neighbor who needs a helping hand?
Nominate a neighbor, family member, friend — or yourself. Your submission could bring professional home support to someone who needs it most.
